I really like the sound of this game, but I'm on a apple device. I don't have windows. I'm a little new to itch.io, so is there any chance that I can download this game on a apple device?
I had to relaunch a couple times before it ever gave me sound, but otherwise it worked pretty well. I really like the idea, hope you're still working on it! I'd like to suggest if you are still working on it that you refine the item inspection a little bit:
*consider changing the text from 'pick up' to 'inspect', to distinguish from where you use 'pick up' to mean add to inventory
*since we can't walk or look while inspecting objects, consider making the mouse rotate the object by default rather than requiring the player to hold shift. Seeing the object move when you wiggle the mouse will make it much more clear that we are in 'inspect mode' and that we should not expect to be able to move or look around until we exit this state
*since objects are inspected a fixed distance away, and we must stand near them, and objects are usually on something, consider setting the object being inspected to arbitrarily draw in front of everything. As is, it's too easy to visually lose the thing you're inspecting inside the table it was on, meaning you need to close inspection, reposition, and try again
Really enjoyed this game! Such a cool concept and cannot wait for the final game whenever it is ready! Keep up the good work with it, you've got something real good here! :)
Excellent Excellent Excellent Excellent Excellent!!!! 5 Star game. IEnjoyed your game VERY much. I have played many many many, etc. many escape games. Yours is very unique and though a short game play, enjoyed it more than any others I have played. I hope you create more just like this one.
Did a video of the game... I got stuck by the toilet in the first playthrough, if you want a bug report.. Really enjoyed it so far, looking forward to the full game.
This game looks interesting and from the reviews and gameplay, it made me interested. However I can't seems to be able to download the game. It keeps failing even with my fast internet. Could there be a problem with the server?? I really want to try and play this game~
Hi! I tested downloading the game on different machines and it works for me. It could be a problem with the server. If the problem still persists, PM me and I'll send you a link to download the game. :)
I tried it again today and it still didn't work. :( It could probably the server, yes. I tried to read the forums here on similar problem, but so far no solid solutions. And I don't know how to PM here, but here's my IG. Just send me a DM there and I'll send you my email.
Thank you so much for this. And sorry for the trouble.
I don't have the IG app anymore(a few weeks of social media cleanse to boost my productivity). Here's a wetransfer link with the game : Alternate download (it will expire in 1 or 2 weeks).
Fantastic demo so far, the amount of work you've put into every little detail is insane and it really shows with the amount of things you can pick up and the stories you can receive about our protagonist if you really look. Great demo, I would love to play the whole thing!
I really love the idea and would love to see the full game. The screen caps are gorgeous and even this little demo was nice. Thank you for taking your time to create this!
Oh, this is so good! This is the perfect demo, it sets the scene, has you puzzling around figuring things out to show what to expect and leaves you wanting a whole lot more!
I did bump into the audio issue as well (wish I'd checked some of the comments below before bumbling around thinking there was no sound for the first quarter of an hour I was playing haha), but once I got it up and going it added even more atmosphere, which I suppose is the point is a good soundtrack!
Anywho, the game flows really nicely, it's painted a very interesting story and I cannot wait to see more from you =) keep up the awesome work!
Thanks for playing, Spoonage! I will surely go more into the "is this real?" aspect of the game in the final release.I will also make it more dramatic in the first scene too when looking through the camera.
Fantastic demo. Hope the rest is just as good and already the story is interesting. Not sure the camera to suitcase bit fitted in to what was a normal life game as it seemed to me but maybe there was a reason for it. Will deffo play the rest when released. So far... So good... :)
Hi, Kevx! Thanks for playing the game! It's not really a normal-life game as the world in which David is in is not truly real. The camera is able to see things which are behind the simulation and are hidden from David's view.It will be explained better in the future with a better introduction to this mechanic.
It was great! Made me very curious for the story. The puzzles were really good. The intro felt a bit out of place, though? The surprise camera mechanic at the end made it really interesting, but I was confused about how it was functioning within the context of the game world.
Great work though, I'll be following you! Cheers. 🍻
Really enjoyed the game! The puzzles were really well done and really made you think at times. The mechanics of things being different with the camera was so seemless and I really enjoye that. Like a lot of people I did have the audio issue, but restarting the game didn't help even after 3 times, but I got it to work by just moving the audio slider. I made a video, I hope you enjoy!
Thank you for playing, Cyberwolf! I really enjoyed the video! I plan on having the camera mechanic a little bit better explained in the future and also make the "hidden" objects easier to see.
Aside from a few little spelling errors, there's a lot to like about this game. There's a load of things to examine, fairly inventive puzzles, while the camera adds an interesting dynamic too. Eager to play more.
Thank you for playing, CjuGames! I'm working hard on the game and all these videos are a great source of feedback. I'm aware of the spelling errors and I plan on proofreading the texts multiple times before releasing the final version.
Like the description says this game doesn't hold your hand at all. You really have to use your head on how you proceed in David's room. Is David's room even real though? I kept asking myself this as, I proceed to fail over and, over again. Just when I think I make a bit of progress all these other obstacles pop up. I keep going back the black light i'm sure it meant something....
Hello, Raithias! Thank you for playing the game. I'm sorry for the issues which you have experienced.I plan on having a hint system in the future releases to avoid getting stuck.
Thanks for playing, Hatertots! Hilarious video, I really enjoyed it!
As for the grammatical errors, I'll try my best solve them.English isn't my primary language so I'll have to get someone to help me proofread the text before release.I'll also have better tooltips and helpers for the controls and the Camera game mechanic.
If you want I can help with the grammatical errors. I think of myself fairly good with grammar. Best way to contact me is my business email on my youtube channel in you're interested.
Thank you for playing, cmodplays! I've noticed people being confused about the camera and photographing mechanic in multiple videos.I'll try to introduce it better in the final release of the game.
I'm personaly a big fan of escape rooms so this ticked all of the boxes for me. The game was well made and very intriguing. I would definetly reccommend this game!
This was a fantastic demo! The environment was set up really well by the first tutorial sort of level that guided me through the hallway. And the escape room itself was actually really difficult. It was simple enough for me to figure what I needed to do, but it took me a while to figure out how to actually solve the puzzle. I can't wait for the full game (if there is a full game planned)!
Thank you for playing my game, TheVisionaryOne! I will try to offer additional explanation within the game(in future releases) on how the camera and photographing objects mechanic works. It was quite "rushed" in the demo.I should've introduced it better. :D
Thank you, roy_g for writing the review.Very well written. It expresses the things I had in mind while developing the game, exploration and story.I am glad the game "shines" in the aspects which were planned.
I really like the idea of a first person escape room, and the future environments you have laid out on this page have me really intrigued. I like that it feels like there is a deeper and possibly more sinister story backing it. I too had the audio problem, fiddling with the audio slider seemed to fix the issue for me. I very much look forward to seeing more of this game, great job and great ideas.
Thank you, PseudoGrimm! The game will feature many more environments. The story is a lot deeper that what's been shown so far.Hopefully I will be able to express it right.
I can't say how much have i enjoyed playing this game, i can't wait for more rooms to come out! I haven't experienced any game breaking bugs or glitches, only issue i had was there was no audio in game but it got fixed after restarting and going to options.
Really cool game mate! the feeling of an escape game is here and I really liked it!
A few feedback if that's ok for you :
- the character is moving a bit too smooth, I found it quite confusing.
- moving into the room was a bit painfull, especially when I made a few run back, trying to turning on the power. Maybe enlarge a bit the room will solve this.
-narratively speaking, I found more powerfull to begin in the room and then going in the corridor. Of course I don't know where you want to go with the story but if my intuition about it is correct, starting in the corridor ruined a bit the suprise.
and FYI, in my first run I got stuck between the toilet and the window in the bathroom
Thank you, JackOLondon for playing the game and for the feedback! The first room(hallway) was meant to be seen as kind of a nightmare from which the character wakes up from, and not the actual simulation.I will point it out better in the future releases. The amount of places you can get stuck in a small room like that keeps suprising me.Thanks for telling me! ^_^
Thank you for playing my game, GrannyJo! I apologize for the issues you experienced while playing. The video has been very helpful. It helped me see which parts of the game need a little bit polishing(or more).
I don't know why the audio wasn't working in the beginning. In other playthroughs it worked just fine.Maybe the Audio Slider was turned all the way down?
In the next update of the game I will put a description of the controls in the scenes so people won't have to pause the game to look up controls and also offer more detail about the Camera game mechanic when picking it up.Quite immersion breaking.
P.S : The "Horray" was a left-over message which I forgot to remove.Sorry about the inconvenience.
I had the same problem of a lack of audio the first time I launched the game, a restart fixed it but I failed to mention it in my video. Slider was unchanged.
I'm not usually one for escape rooms, but the atmosphere and story bits sold me. I hope you find the feedback useful and I apologize for cutting so many of the objects out, The video would have been nearly an hour otherwise. Looking forward to further updates!
Thank you a lot, CoalFire for playing my game!I truly appreciate it!Subscribed! I am glad that my original intentions of having environmental storytelling have been noticed. It was a crucial part of making the scenes. All the little connections and tiny details took most of the development time.
The feedback was very constructive and detailed and you commented on a few aspects which I hadn't noticed yet and was pleasantly surprised to hear about.A few responses based on your commentary:
I agree that the rotation controls need a little bit(may more) of an adjustment.I used to joke with my friends that David being a severe alcoholic, has trouble manipulating and holding objects.I will look into this issue.
The audio parameters might have been tuned a little bit too high in this latest build. It could've been my faulty new headphones because I turned the overall audio source volume a little bit higher before building the demo.
The story will continue with David. He is the protagonist of the story.
There are many other scenes which have been developed but are not ready for release yet.I will keep everyone updated on the progress and hopefully in the near future the full game will be submitted to Steam AND itch.io(the final version).

This is one of the best games, I have played, in quite sometime and it's not even finished! I am so looking forward to the final game.
Restarting the game, did work for me, when my sound wasn't working.
Did a video of the game... I got stuck by the toilet in the first playthrough, if you want a bug report.. Really enjoyed it so far, looking forward to the full game.

Sometimes the misspelled words are humorous and most players undersatnd. Ty for such a GREAT 5 star game!!!!!
You have to play this one, https://gregorsd.itch.io/1915. Have fun my friend.
Hello, Raithias! Thank you for playing the game.

The game's environment was done well- it felt familiar yet strangely eerie. Decent puzzles. Liked the camera lens mechanic.
Like other people, I had no audio at the beginning of the game but restarting it fixed the problem.
I wrote a little review about your indie game to let our fans know about it. Good work =].
I'll probably also play the full game when you're done with it.

It is cool yes, i like this game
Thank you for playing!
It's good to see the game played on different specs and how it behaves.
I loved this game and a lot of detail was put into it, even for a demo. I can't wait to see where this game goes in the future.
Thank you for playing!Enjoyed the video!

The game is intended for a slow-pace, no explosions and such. :P
FUCKING GREAT GAME MATE! BANGING!
Thank you!
I liked it overall. There was a few gripes here and there, but I enjoyed the experience :)
